What We’re Working On…

Ellen is currently working on…

I’m working on a set of new designs for winter. I know it’s summer here in the Northern hemisphere, but I’ve found over the last couple of years that I really need to start planning ahead silghtly more!

The set will have a neckwarmer style fitted cowl (shown here, still needs finishing), matching hat and matching full mittens, all worked in chunky weight yarn so they should be quick knits. I hope to have those patterns released in the autumn.

As well as that I have a new DK weight shawl design just going into testing, which should be out at the end of August, and a cushion pattern that is nearly ready for testing too.

In between all of that I’m working on Deann’s sock pattern still, which I hope to finish in the next few days, a simple blue pair of socks which are a gift, two colourwork vest tops (I’m designing those, which will take me some time), a laceweight shawl from a Romi pattern, and I’m still making the vintage 1940’s bedjacket project I’ve shown previously.

And…I also received this lovely yarn here in the second photo from Laura’s Loom which I plan to use in another shawl design. Just a few things on the go then….!

Deann is currently working on…

Deann's new shawl design

Deann is away this week, she’s visiting one of our lovely online knitting friends, Jean, for a day or two, so I’m filling in for her! Also I am green with envy! I hope to catch up with them both next year though if possible.

Deann is still working hard on her sock pattern, which is quite a complicated one to size, we’ve been doing that together as we knit the socks, and she’s also started designing a shawl, the start of which you can see here in the photo she gave me to put in. Now I can’t remember what the yarn is! She’s told me several times. I think it was Malabrigo Rios, but don’t quote me on that… 🙂

I know it’s been a little bit of a challenge to come up with something that will work well with the variegation, but I’m pretty sure she’s cracking that now, this looks good so far doesn’t it!
