To celebrate the start of StitchGeek I have designed an exclusive free pattern for our readers
In these tough economic times, we all need a little bit of help right? So what better way to support fellow crafters than with a little tongue-in-cheek freebie!
Presenting to you Broke ‘n Ribbing (banker hat & empty piggy bank optional!)
It’s a little cowl, which you can work in an up-market yarn for a reasonable price, because it only takes one skein! The design is really simple, so it’s a relaxing knit when you need to unwind after a hard day trading your shears on the yarnmarket…
Mine used one skein of Rowan Pure Wool Aran. A really nice yarn, superwash and soft against the skin.
This design is eventually going to form part of a collection in a book I’m writing on learning to knit left-handed, but don’t worry, the pattern is entirely hand-neutral so right-handed knitters can work it too without fear of exploding! My aim with the book is to provide a starter resource for basic left-handed knitting techniques along with a series of progressive projects to work through.
As that’s a long-term project, I’m really pleased to be able to share with you this little pattern in the meantime, which is not currently available anywhere else, here on StitchGeek! Visit our Patterns Page to get your copy, and please enjoy!
