A little accordian style case, for storing circular knitting needles. The case features 14 spaces for storing needles, each consisting of a clear plastic pouch, with organising tabs at the top of each. The product is beautifully packaged in a strong cardboard box, and the case inside is wrapped in protective plastic. It comes with paper inserts for you to write your needle sizes on that slot into the tabs to customise your storage. The sides are held together with elastic, making it flexible if filling with larger/many needles.
This is a well-made product, with a fabulous stylish look and really space-efficient. Up until now, my circular needles have been writhing around inside a wooden box and I sometimes struggled to shut the lid! They now take up much less space, are sorted into size and easy to select! No more fighting with needle snakes…
The leather-look case is very chic, and the flip up metal closure works well and is good quality. These cases come in a variety of vibrant colours to suit your own personal style. I picked this bright yet muted lime green. I really like the look; it’s functional but not boring and looks more like a designer office accessory than a traditional knitting accessory.
Here’s a peek inside my case loaded with circulars, with some of the tabs filled in.
The only issue I have with this case is that the bottom of each pouch is open. I guess this makes it more expandable so there is no fear of pouch breakage if the pouch is stuffed full, but when I went to store a tiny 9 inch circular in one of the pouches, it wormed its way out of the bottom. They will stay in if stowed carefully, but it’s not ideal for that size of needle so it’s something to bear in mind. I’ve also taken a photo of that area to show you.
All in all though it is a great product, I am really happy with this purchase, it was a treat to unpack and start using. It’s certainly made much lighter work of storing my sprawling circular needle collection!
PROS: Well-made, space-efficient.
CONS: Design is unsuitable for tiny circulars (9 inch/23 cm size needles)
